Dancing on the Tarmac at the Dance Studio: July – August 2020

Before the nights started drawing in, Dancing on the Tarmac was the short term answer for the Modern Jive dancer. Dancing in the studio’s private car park, and in line with Government guidelines, numbers were limited to a maximum of 30 and you had to book in advance. NO walk-ins were allowed. Dancers had to bring their own chair and drinks, and wore comfortable, sensible shoes. It was fixed couples only, but there were a fair number of singles who just came to dance solo, and socialise at distance with others. Good weather seemed to favour Tuesday evenings, and there were lots of smiling faces!

Chance to Dance at the Dance Studio: July – August 2020

A spot of Ballroom and Latin, a fair measure of Sequence, a dollop of Latin in Line and a topping of Modern Jive! Dancing in the studio’s private car park, there really was something for everyone. Numbers were limited to a maximum of 30 and you had to book in advance. NO walk-ins were allowed, you had to sit socially distanced and even the car park was marked with pink, socially distanced crosses! You needed to bring your own chair and drinks, and wear comfortable, sensible shoes! No dance shoes just yet, but the weather each week was kind and just gave everyone a Chance to Dance!

Winter Ball 2020

This was the first major event major event on the Want2Dance calendar 2020. Held at the prestigious Burton upon Trent Town Hall, the Mayor and Mayoress were in attendance and the raffle raised nearly £500 for charity. Who would have thought then, that this was to be the last big event of the year and not just the first? But along came coronavirus……

The Opening Night of the Dance Studio: 30 March 2019

After three months of hard work converting an office suite into a stylish, modern dance studio, dancers took to the floor with the fabulous Dave Evans providing all the music.
